Marcos Munoz

Marcos “Keetos” Ybarra Munoz, born June 30, 1980, in Bakersfield, California, brought laughter and steady companionship to family and friends throughout his life. Known to many by his affectionate nickname “Keetos,” Marcos was a son of Kern County, rooted in the neighborhoods and community where he lived.

Friends and family remember Marcos for his easy smile and the small everyday kindnesses he offered to those around him. Whether gathering with loved ones for family meals or spending time close to home, Marcos was present in the lives of people who valued his loyalty and quiet humor. His life reflected the bonds of community and family that shaped him from childhood into adulthood.

A visitation and rosary were held to give family and friends a chance to honor his memory, followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bakersfield, where those who loved him gathered to celebrate his life and offer comfort to one another.

Marcos’s passing on December 18, 2018, was felt deeply by those who knew him. While words cannot fully express the loss, family and friends continue to remember the warmth he shared, the quiet ways he supported those close to him, and the ordinary moments that made his life meaningful. He is remembered with love by his family and the community he called home.
