Liam Bouldrey

Liam Furian Cedric Bouldrey, 18, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2024. Born February 14, 2006, Liam was preparing to begin his senior year at Defiance High School, where he proudly played trombone in the marching band. Music was one of the ways he connected with friends and the community, and he carried that quiet pride into many parts of his life.

Liam was active with the Boy Scouts at Camp Lakota, earning recognition as a four-time marksmanship award winner with NRAA at camp. He loved spending time with friends—whether around a campfire, cooking for the group, or hanging out in the garage—and enjoyed video games and the simple pleasures of teenage life. Those who knew him remember a young man who looked out for others, with an easy smile and an “endearing smirk” that brightened ordinary moments.

He worked part-time at Subway and balanced school, activities, and friendships with a steady sense of responsibility. Family was important to Liam; he is survived by his mother, Jessica Keiber, siblings, grandparents, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who will carry his memory forward.

A visitation was held on August 24, 2024, at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. David Brobston. The family suggested memorial contributions to Camp Lakota for maintenance and improvements or to the family directly.

Liam is remembered for his dedication to those around him, his quiet generosity, and the small, everyday moments that revealed his character—sharing music, tending to friends, and joining others at camp. Though his life was far too short, the kindness he showed and the memories he made with family and friends endure as a meaningful testament to who he was.
