Remembering Levi
A life held close in memory
Levi R. Reese, III of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2023. Born in Norfolk on May 11, 1986, Levi was the son of Levi R. Reese Jr. and Valerie Reese and grew up in the area, attending Churchland and I.C. Norcom High Schools. He went on to earn an associate degree in Electrical and Construction from Centura College and was proud of the skills he developed there.
At the time of his passing, Levi worked at Land and Sea Distribution in Norfolk, where he often spoke of the friendships he had formed and the pride he took in his work. Those who knew him remember a man whose laugh was contagious and whose smile could light up a room. Levi was a person of deep faith and carried that devotion openly, often talking about his relationship with the Lord.
Family was central to Levi’s life. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Taleyah and Zamirah, who he loved above all else. He is survived by his parents, Levi and Valerie Reese; siblings Shawnti Holley, Schwanda Sessoms (Will), and Veronica Lassiter (Kevin); and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who cherished his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Betty M. Smith.
Levi will be remembered for his warmth, his readiness to engage others, and the care he showed his family and friends. Those who loved him recall his humor, his faith, and the everyday ways he made life brighter for people around him. His memory lives on in his daughters and in all who were touched by his gentle, outgoing nature.
