Remembering Lamar
A life held close in memory
Lamar Easterling brought a bright spirit to everyone who knew him. A son, brother, and friend from Pawleys Island, Lamar was remembered by family as kind-hearted and quick with a joke — the kind of person who could make a stranger feel welcome. He grew up in the area and was connected to his community and to the people who loved him.
Family was central to Lamar’s life. He is survived by his parents, Vertrella Brown and George Easterling, and his siblings, including Paula Brown, Renita Brown, Crystal Williams, Tiffany Brown, and Dexter Brown, who remember his warmth, humor, and generosity. Those who knew Lamar recall his readiness to help others and the way he would offer what he had to a friend in need.
Though his life was cut short at 24, Lamar’s presence left a lasting impression on his circle — friends have described him as someone who never met a stranger and who carried himself with an open, giving nature. In public remembrances he is recalled for both his laughter and his capacity to care for people around him.
Services were arranged by McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home in Andrews, South Carolina. Friends and community members gathered to honor Lamar’s memory and the relationships he formed during his years in the Waccamaw area.
Lamar’s family and friends continue to hold his memory close, remembering his warmth, his humor, and the everyday kindnesses that defined him. Though brief, his life touched many — a reminder of the love and connection he shared with those who knew him.
