Kevin Michael Whitaker

Kevin Michael Whitaker was remembered by family and friends for a quiet strength, a servant’s heart, and a deep faith. Born in Houston on March 19, 1984, Kevin was the youngest child of Kent and Patricia Whitaker. From his school days he showed leadership—active in baseball and track, serving on student council, and elected junior class president at Fort Bend Baptist Academy, where he earned the school’s "Servant's Heart" award.

Kevin enjoyed the outdoors and simple pleasures—hunting, fishing, and the companionship of close friends. He carried a strong devotion to his faith and was a member of River Pointe Community Church. After high school he pursued higher education, attending Texas A&M University with hopes tied to the Corps of Cadets, and later studied at Houston Community College as he continued to build his life and future.

Those who knew Kevin recall him as encouraging and loyal: a friend who acted like a brother, a young man passionate about family, faith, and service. His family and church community celebrated the ways he lived out those values and invited those who wished to honor him to support memorial gifts in his and his mother’s names to local church and memorial funds.

Kevin passed from this life on December 10, 2003. While his death brought deep sorrow to those who loved him, his memory endures in the stories of a life lived with devotion to others, a love of God’s creation, and the friendships he cherished. He is survived by his father, brother, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who continue to remember his warmth and faithfulness.
