Remembering Kelly

A life held close in memory

Kelly Heath of Aztec/Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on October 21, 2024. Born in Durango, Colorado, Kelly spent her life across the Southwest and was known to family and friends for her generous spirit, creative talents, and fondness for the outdoors.

A loving mother, Kelly is survived by her children Kelci (Jordan) Richards, Kristianna Heath, and Justis Heath (Becca Garrett), and by her grandchildren Owen, Liam, and Ivory, who remembered her as a playful and protective grandmother. Family members recall Kelly’s sense of humor and the small, memorable ways she brightened days — from lighthearted antics to thoughtful handmade gifts.

Kelly loved art and shared much of her creativity with those close to her. She also delighted in outdoor life and simple pastimes, which she enjoyed with friends and family. Those who knew her remember her generosity and the warmth she carried into gatherings and everyday moments.

Her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Kelly’s honor to the Family Crisis Center of Farmington to support others facing domestic violence and related struggles. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held at Farmington Funeral Home on November 16, 2024.

Kelly’s story is one of love for family and close friends, of creativity, and of afternoons spent outdoors. Her family hopes her memory will encourage others to reach out to loved ones who are struggling and to offer compassion and support where it’s needed most.
