Remembering Justin
A life held close in memory
Justin “Juice” Marshall brought light and laughter to the people who crossed his path. Known to many as DJ Juice, Justin spent much of his life in south Minneapolis where he became a familiar and cherished presence — at Kowalski’s Market, behind the turntables at community events and the local F45 gym, and in the daily kindnesses he offered to neighbors and friends. He carried a ready smile, a playful sense of humor, and a steady, calming presence that made busy days feel a little easier for those around him.
Justin began working for Kowalski’s Market as a teenager and remained a devoted team member for years. Colleagues remember him not only for his skill and professionalism — he earned recognition for his grocery bagging early on — but for the way he treated customers and co-workers like family. When he spun music as DJ Juice, he did more than play songs: he brought people together, turning ordinary moments into celebrations and helping to build community through music and warmth.
Family and friends recall Justin as someone who loved life and gave freely of himself. He enjoyed connecting with people, meeting them with good humor and compassion, and supporting the gatherings that made the neighborhood feel like home. His presence was woven into the everyday fabric of his community: a friendly face at the market, a beat behind local events, and a trusted friend when someone needed one.
Justin’s life was celebrated by those who loved him at vigils, neighborhood gatherings, and through acts of care that followed his passing. The outpouring of support — flowers, shared memories, and fundraisers to help his family — reflects the depth of feeling his life inspired. While his family and friends grieve the loss of a beloved son, brother, colleague and friend, they also honor the ways he made life brighter for so many.
He is remembered for his big smile, his music, and the kindness he showed in everyday moments. Though his life ended far too soon, Justin’s warmth and generosity live on in the stories shared by those who knew him and the small ways he made his neighborhood kinder.
Arrangements and remembrances were shared by his family and through the funeral home. Those who wish to honor Justin’s memory are encouraged to keep his spirit of generosity alive by reaching out to loved ones, supporting community efforts in his name, or sharing a memory of him with those he touched.
