Remembering Joshua
A life held close in memory
Joshua Leshune Anthony Baker, 25, of Mobile, Alabama, is remembered by family and friends for the love he held for those closest to him. He was a beloved son, a caring father to his daughter Journey and his sons Zhy'Ran and Jakarie, and a cherished grandson and nephew whose presence brightened family gatherings.
Joshua grew up surrounded by family who recall his smile and the ways he made time for people he cared about. In messages left on his memorial page, relatives and friends described him as thoughtful and loving — someone who enjoyed spending time with family and sharing ordinary joys, like playing video games and talking about his plans for the future.
Services to honor Joshua’s memory were arranged by Lovett’s Chapel in Mobile, with visitation on November 13, 2020, and a graveside service at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden on November 14, 2020. Those who gathered to pay their respects offered condolences, memories, and promises to keep his name alive within the family.
Though his life was cut short, Joshua’s family remembers him in the small, enduring ways he showed his love — in conversations, shared laughter, and the everyday care of his children. His family’s messages and the outpouring of sympathy from the community reflect the place he held in their hearts. He is survived by his mother Jenise (Craig Mims) Baker; his father Johnnie Nichols; his sisters Aneacia (Sthephen) Taylor and Johnnis Nichols; his children; grandparents; and other relatives who continue to honor his memory.
