Joshua Lee McDaniel (Jan. 25, 1981–May 16, 2018) was a devoted husband and father who loved Marvel movies, fishing, music, and time spent playing pool with family and friends.
Remembering Joshua
A life held close in memory
Joshua Lee McDaniel, 37, of Grain Valley, Missouri, brought warmth and simple joys to those who knew him. Born January 25, 1981 in Kansas City, Kansas, Joshua cherished time with his wife Jessica and their two sons. He worked as a driver for Century Concrete and was proud to provide for his family.
Away from work, Joshua enjoyed many small pleasures that revealed his easygoing spirit: watching Marvel and scary movies, playing video and board games, shooting pool, listening to music, and fishing. Those who knew him remember a man who loved family gatherings and the comfortable companionship of friends and relatives.
A Baptist by faith in his childhood, Joshua kept close ties with his family across the Kansas City area. He is survived by his wife, Jessica McDaniel; his sons, Elijah Lee Humerickhouse and Cameron Scott McDaniel; his mother, Barbara McDaniel-Sharp; his father, Ira Weddington; siblings and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who remember his steady presence and quiet devotion.
Joshua’s family entrusted final arrangements to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. He is remembered not for how his life ended, but for the everyday ways he loved: as a husband who stood by his family, a father who cared deeply for his sons, and a man who found happiness in movies, music, and time spent with the people he loved. May those memories bring comfort to those who mourn him.
