Joseph Richardson

Joseph Demetrius “Meachie” Richardson, 35, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away on June 4, 2022. Born March 15, 1987, in Lexington, Joseph brought energy and a lighthearted spirit to those around him. A graduate of Raceland-Worthington schools, he worked as a granite sealer and found happiness in simple, meaningful pleasures: riding his motorcycle, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Joseph was a loving husband to Raquel Devine Richardson and a devoted father to their children, who survived him. He was the son of Joseph (Lisa) Richardson and Carrie (Tone) Sullivan, and he is remembered by sisters Justice Mays and Jada Richardson, his grandmother Loretta (Henry) Royston, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who treasured his presence.

Those who knew Joseph recall his playful spirit and his readiness to share laughter and music. He leaves behind many who will carry forward his memory in stories, family gatherings, and quiet moments. Services were held privately with family; friends and loved ones were invited to leave messages and recollections on his tribute wall.

Joseph’s family asked that remembrances focus on his life and the love he shared. For those who wish to honor him, planting a tree or sharing a cherished memory with the family are ways to celebrate the warmth he brought to others.
