Jose Principe

Jose L. Principe (February 14, 1994 — October 27, 2022) of Waterbury, Connecticut, is remembered for the warmth and quiet strength he brought to those who knew him. A loving partner to Shadina Jamison and a devoted father to his infant daughter, Sahara, Jose treasured time with family — watching films, sharing laughs, and making memories that his relatives now hold dear. He enjoyed playing basketball when time allowed and expressed himself through drawing and painting, talents that reflected his thoughtful and creative nature.

Born in Bridgeport to Jennie Lenor Ortiz and Jose A. Principe, Jose was known among family and friends for his encouraging words and steady presence. Those close to him recall a young man who combined intelligence with a gentle humor, someone who offered support and kindness without fanfare. His calm demeanor and ability to lift others with a few sincere words made him a quietly steady presence in his community.

Friends and family will remember Jose not only for his artistic gifts and love of sport but for the everyday moments he cherished: evenings spent with family, small acts of encouragement, and the pride he showed in his new role as a father. Though his life was cut tragically short, the love he gave to his daughter and the memories shared with loved ones endure as a lasting testament to his character.

A visitation was held at Funeraria Luz de Paz in Bridgeport on November 9, 2022. In grieving Jose’s passing, his family and friends honor the gentle strength and creative spirit he shared. He is survived by his daughter Sahara, his partner Shadina Jamison, and members of his extended family who remember him with love and gratitude.
