Jorge Moises Martinez Lorenzo

Jorge Moises Martinez Lorenzo was born December 16, 1998, in Veracruz, Mexico. He came to the United States with his family in October 2017 and was known for his warmth, devotion to family, and quiet joys. Jorge had completed high school and pursued nursing studies in Mexico before working for Taylor Farms in Texas, where he spent two years contributing his steady work ethic.

Those who knew Jorge remember him as the best son—someone who cared deeply for his mother and sister and who was adored across both sides of his family. He took pleasure in ordinary, meaningful moments: watching movies, shooting hoops, collecting Pops figures and caps, and taking drives at night to take in the Dallas skyline. He loved nature and days by the lake, and he found comfort in small collections of jackets, beanies, and keepsakes. Jorge’s home was also shared with two devoted dogs, Spike, a husky, and Jacob, a schnauzer, who were treasured companions.

Family members described Jorge as kind, close to those he loved, and someone who brightened gatherings with his presence. He is remembered by his parents, Jorge Luis Martinez Tapia and Maria Guadalupe Lorenzo Garcia; his sister Zoe Guadalupe Martinez; his grandfather Celestino Lorenzo; and many extended family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Crispina Garcia and Ofelia Tapia, and his grandfather Jesus Martinez.

A visitation was held February 3, 2023, at Green Funeral Home in Red Oak, Texas, followed by a Mass of Christian burial on February 4, 2023, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster. Those who loved Jorge carry forward the memory of his gentle spirit, his fondness for simple pleasures, and the quiet ways he showed care for family. He will be long remembered for the love he gave and the small moments that made his life his own.
