Remembering Jordan

A life held close in memory

Jordan Elizabeth LaBarre, 32, of Breckenridge, Colorado, was born February 16, 1993, and taken from her family on July 7, 2025. A loving daughter to Joann and Timothy Shugrue and a devoted sister to Joshua LaBarre, Jordan carried with her the warmth of family ties across state lines — a Massachusetts native who made Colorado her home in 2015.

Jordan graduated with a degree in history from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and pursued a life full of curiosity and outdoor adventure. She found joy in the mountains she called home: hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and snowboarding were among the passions that shaped her days. Jordan climbed several “Fourteeners,” embracing the physical challenges and quiet beauty of the high country. Her friends say she was outgoing, compassionate, and the kind of person who welcomed others and made them feel at ease.

In Breckenridge, Jordan became part of a community that cherished her easy laugh and generous spirit. She worked as a bartender at Ollie’s Pub & Grub, where coworkers and patrons remember her as hardworking and friendly. Beyond work, she built deep friendships that often felt like family to her parents — people who shared weekend hikes, celebrations, and the rhythms of mountain life.

Jordan’s family recalls a daughter who loved fiercely and lived fully. They remember her curiosity about history, her readiness for a new trail or a winter slope, and the comfort she found in close relationships. While words can never replace Jordan’s presence, those who knew her speak of her as adventurous, kind, and welcoming — someone whose energy drew others in and whose loyalty endured.

Jordan is survived by her mother Joann Shugrue, stepfather Timothy J. Shugrue, brother Joshua LaBarre, stepsister Caitlin Shugrue, and a wide circle of friends who became family in Colorado. Her family has asked for privacy as they grieve and to be allowed space to remember Jordan for the life she lived rather than the manner of her passing.

Jordan’s life was marked by curiosity, outdoor adventure, and the relationships she cultivated in both Massachusetts and Colorado. Her family and friends honor her memory by remembering the joy she brought into their lives and the trails she loved to climb. Those who wish to offer condolences or share a memory are encouraged to use the funeral home’s memorial page where the family has chosen to gather remembrances.
