Jimmy Allen Bertrand, 52, of Beaumont, passed away April 26, 2016. Born February 16, 1964, in Basile, Louisiana, Jimmy built a life defined by family, reliable work, and quiet generosity. For many years he worked as a fire extinguisher technician for Coastal Sprinkler Company, a role that reflected his practical skills and steady approach to everyday problems.
Jimmy treasured his family. He is remembered by his wife, Nicola McGuire Bertrand; sons David Bertrand, Timothy Bertrand and Cole Bertrand; daughter Kandess Bertrand; and his granddaughter, Abigale Bertrand. He was also a beloved brother to Bert Bertrand, Bobby Bertrand, Sandra Hallam, Glenda Adkins and Nancy Bertrand, and is fondly recalled by numerous nieces and nephews. Those who knew him recall a man who took pride in providing for his family and who carried himself with the dependable calm of someone who quietly put others first.
Friends and relatives gathered to honor Jimmy’s memory with a visitation at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont on April 30, 2016, and he was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on May 1, 2016. In a life that touched many in small, steady ways, Jimmy’s legacy lives on through his children and the everyday kindnesses he showed to those close to him. He will be remembered for his devotion to family and the practical care he gave to those around him.
