Obituary
A formal remembrance
Jeffrey Wayne “Jeff” Milbrandt of Rochester, Minnesota, was born May 3, 1962. He passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2026. Known for a big heart, a ready laugh, and a love of friendly competition, Jeff was many things to many people: a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a loyal brother, uncle and cherished friend.
Jeff had a joyful approach to life and was a true competitor in the things he loved — from bags and darts to cards, bowling and foosball. He carried a playful, youthful spirit into gatherings and was often the one to spark a grin or start a game. Those who knew him remember his generous nature and his ability to make ordinary moments feel like celebrations.
A graduate of John Marshall High School (class of 1980), Jeff later attended the vocational-technical program at Rochester Community and Technical College. He took pride in practical skills and in helping others; his generosity extended beyond family and friends. In keeping with that spirit, Jeff generously donated organs for recipients and for medical research, a final act that reflected his care for others.
Family and community meant a great deal to Jeff. He is remembered for the warmth he brought to gatherings and the steady presence he offered those close to him. Friends and family gathered for a celebration of his life on January 31, 2026, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester to honor his memory and the ways he brightened the lives of those around him.
Jeff’s passing leaves a quiet ache for those who loved him, but also many small, enduring memories: a laugh that filled a room, a hand extended in kindness, and an invitation to play just one more round. He will be remembered for the joy he gave and the compassion he showed. Those who wish to leave a message of sympathy or share a memory were invited to sign the guestbook at the funeral home’s memorial page.
