Remembering Jared
A life held close in memory
Jared Bogard “Bo” Porter, age 23, of Circleville, passed away on March 3, 2023. Born on January 22, 2000 during a snowstorm to Tom and Kris (Lewis) Porter, Bo carried a bright, energetic spirit throughout his life. He graduated from Circleville High School in 2018 where he played several sports, with soccer being his favorite. Friends and family remember him for his love of the outdoors, especially hiking with his dogs, and for the easy way he connected with children and younger relatives who loved to play with him.
Bo worked as a plumber for MJ Bauman Company in Columbus, where he was known as a hardworking young man beginning his career and supporting those close to him. He enjoyed video games and spending time with close friends and his brothers, Shaun and Logan, with whom he shared many laughs and memories. His warmth, spirited debates, and willingness to join in activities made him a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Robert Porter; grandparents Ralphie and Sally Anderson, Bob and Marge Porter, and Grant Lewis; and aunts Francene Porter and Jenca Rice. Bo is survived by his parents, Tom and Kris Porter; brothers Logan (Emma) Porter and Shaun (Makinley) Porter; grandmother Ruth Lewis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who carry his memory forward.
Visitation was held at Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville, with funeral services following. In remembering Jared, those who loved him recall his playful nature, his loyalty to family, and the simple joys he shared—hiking with his dogs, spirited conversations, and the small everyday moments that defined his life. Though gone far too soon, Jared’s warmth and the memories he made with family and friends remain a lasting tribute to his life.
