James Lee Hamilton

James Lee “Jimmy” Hamilton (born March 30, 1990) was known to those closest to him for his music, quick wit, and an eager curiosity that carried into many parts of his life. Raised in the Lake County area of northeastern Illinois before making Racine his home, Jimmy built a life around creativity and hard work. He operated Jim and Joe Moving Co., a small moving business he ran for several years, and friends remembered him as industrious, dependable, and persistent in his pursuits.

Music was a central part of Jimmy’s identity. He loved playing guitar and was described by family and friends as talented and passionate about music; he was also an avid reader and a gifted writer, interests that reflected his thoughtful nature and intelligence. Those qualities came together in the way he made people laugh and in his generosity to others — traits several family members highlighted when speaking about him.

Jimmy’s family life remained important to him. Public remembrances list his parents and siblings among his closest survivors, and funeral arrangements were handled with the care his family sought to provide. Visitation and memorial services were announced through the family’s chosen funeral home in early October 2021.

On October 4, 2021, Jimmy’s life was cut short in Racine, Wisconsin.
