Jaden Halpern

Jaden “Jay” Halpern (August 26, 2004 – June 10, 2022) was a beloved son and young person from Lima, Ohio, whose generous spirit and quick smile left an impression on those who knew him. A high school student with a love of life, Jay was known to family and friends as big-hearted and full of energy. He was the son of David and Tina (Johns) Halpern and grew up between Lima and Elida, rooted in the care of a close family.

Those who remember Jay recall a teen who enjoyed being around people and who brought warmth to everyday moments. He cared for his family and shared a lively presence with classmates and neighbors, leaving behind memories of laughter and youthful enthusiasm. His family described him as having a passion for life that showed in small acts of kindness and in the connections he made with others.

Funeral services were entrusted to Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home with calling hours on June 16, 2022, and funeral on June 17, 2022, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Elida. In lieu of attempting to summarize every personal detail, family and friends have remembered Jay through stories of the ways he brightened ordinary days and through the support they continue to share with one another.

Though his life ended far too soon, Jay’s memory endures in the hearts of his parents, relatives, classmates, and community members who mourn his passing and celebrate the warmth he brought into their lives. May his family find comfort in shared memories and the knowledge that he was cherished.
