Obituary
A formal remembrance
Gustavo Morentin Rosales (May 17, 1962 – August 3, 2018) is remembered for his deep devotion to family and his steady work ethic. Born in Colima, Mexico, he built a life in Southern California where he raised four children—Fabiola, Olga Ivette, Gustavo, and Alejandro—alongside Adriana, his first love. Those who knew him recall a man who took pride in providing for his family and creating simple, lasting traditions.
For 27 years Gustavo served as a supervisor at Precision Wire Products, Inc., rising early and committing himself to his work. Outside the workplace he connected with his children through soccer, serving as teammate, coach, and referee, and cheering for his beloved Cruz Azul. Family time — from camping trips to Big Bear or the beach, to regular movie nights at home — formed the heart of his life and the memories his family cherishes.
Gustavo was also a grandfather who adored his grandchildren, and a brother to Enrique Morentin. Those close to him remember his determination, responsibility, and quiet dedication: the early mornings, the steady presence at games and family gatherings, and the small rituals that brought everyone together.
With respect and love his family gives thanks to those who supported them during their loss. He will be remembered for the care he showed his children and grandchildren, the joy he found in simple family moments, and the practices of a life lived to provide for and protect those he loved.
