Geraldine Magee

Geraldine “Jeri” Marie (Greene) Magee was born February 22, 1944, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A graduate of Arlington High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Boston State College and a Master of Arts in Education from Suffolk University. Jeri taught elementary school in Billerica, where she cared for and inspired young children, before choosing to focus on raising her own family.

On February 19, 1972, she married John “Jack” Magee. The couple built their life together in Andover, where they raised two children and were active in community life. Over the years Jeri volunteered with Lawrence General Hospital and the Bread & Roses Community Pantry in Lawrence, giving her time to causes that supported local families. She and Jack also maintained a part-time residence in Jupiter, Florida, and they shared a passion for travel: family notices say she visited six continents and nearly 40 countries during her life.

Jeri is remembered in public records and family notices as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured family time and quietly supported her community. She is survived by her two children, her grandchildren, siblings, and a wider circle of relatives and friends who valued her generosity and steady presence. The family asked for privacy following her death.

Geraldine Magee died in mid-December 2011; news reports record that she and her husband were found fatally shot in their Andover home on December 14, 2011. The loss was widely felt in the Andover area, where both were long-time residents involved in local life and business.
