Geoffrey Maina Ndwiga

Geoffrey Maina Ndwiga — known to loved ones as Jeffa or Mainish — lived a life shaped by family, learning, and community. Born November 16, 1977, in Nairobi, Kenya, Geoffrey was the son of Jacinta and the late Obed-Ben Ndwiga. He carried memories of his early years in Nairobi — baptized and confirmed in local churches, educated at Khalsa Primary and Moi Forces Academy, and for a time a member of his school rugby team.

Geoffrey made a home in Roanoke, Virginia, where he continued his studies and work. He attended Virginia Western and later completed a degree in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. Geoffrey’s dedication to his family was central to his life: he is remembered by his wife, Michelle Leftwich; his daughters, Jacinta Wambui and Jaira Wanjiku Ndwiga; siblings Anthony Muchangi, Solomon Njue and Susan Nyawira; and other relatives who survive him.

Friends and family recall Geoffrey for his loyalty, quiet strength, and the care he showed for those closest to him.
