Remembering Frslandez

A life held close in memory

Frslandez L. Cook, 52, of Sylacauga, Alabama, was a devoted father and a familiar presence to family and friends in his community. He treasured time with his children and family, and his home and church ties were central to the life he built.

He is survived by his sons, Frslandez Cook, Jr. and Jacquarius Threatt, and by his loving mother, Cornelia P. Cook. He also leaves behind brothers Nenio (Felita) Cook, Alando Cook, and Vestavia Cook; sisters Debra (Charles) Ware, Angela Cook, and Aretha (Ronnie) Townsend; as well as aunts, uncles and a wide circle of relatives and friends who cherished him.

Family and friends gathered to honor Mr. Cook with visitation at Community Funeral Home in Sylacauga followed by a celebration of life at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Those services reflected the importance of faith and family in his life and offered loved ones a place to share memories, prayers, and comfort.

Mr. Cook departed this life on September 8, 2020, at his residence in Sylacauga. While his passing was sudden, the memories he left with his children, his mother, siblings and extended family continue to be a source of comfort. His family invited those who loved him to remember his life through visits, remembrances, and offerings made in his name.

He will be remembered by those closest to him for the steady presence he offered in family moments, and for the role he played within his local community. The family asked for privacy as they grieved and expressed gratitude for the support shown during this time.
