Evander Holmes

Evander Lorenzo Holmes was born December 18, 1993, and grew up in the Calhoun County area of Mississippi, where family and church were central to his life. Known to relatives as a devoted son and to friends for his steady presence, Evander treasured time with those closest to him and remained connected to his community in small but meaningful ways.

Those who gathered to remember Evander spoke of his warmth, his readiness to help others, and the familiar patterns of everyday life that made him recognizable and loved—family dinners, church gatherings, and neighbors who relied on one another. His funeral arrangements reflected those ties: services were held at New Hope Church of God in Christ, and he was laid to rest at Clear Springs Cemetery, surrounded by people who cherished him.

Evander was 26 at the time of his passing on May 22, 2020. The circumstances of his death brought sorrow to his family and to the wider community.
