Edwin Jelinek

Edwin Martin “Marty” Jelinek, 44, of Oklahoma City, passed away on June 24, 2025. Born January 11, 1981, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Marty was known for his generous spirit, quick humor, and deep love for family. Those who knew him remember a man whose laughter filled a room and whose willingness to help others was steady and sincere.

A graduate of Anadarko High School (Class of 2000), Marty carried a lifelong passion for sports. He enjoyed baseball, football, and basketball, and was a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Friends and family recall his athleticism in youth and the easy way he connected with people through shared games and sporting traditions.

Marty’s life was shaped by close family ties. He is survived by his wife, LouElla Maria Jelinek; daughters Brooklyn Swift and Senia “Haeven” O’Neil; stepsons Malik Boardingham, Austin Valdez, and Victor Elizondo; and grandson Bronx Figueroa. He is also survived by his father, Eddy Jelinek; sisters Inga Burkhardt and Ashley Jelinek; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward his memory.

Though Marty could be larger-than-life in personality, those closest to him knew a quieter side: someone who sometimes preferred small, personal gatherings and who cared deeply for the people around him. His family remembers him for his compassion, his sense of humor, and the simple acts of kindness that defined his relationships. He is also remembered by many for the joy he found in shared moments with family and friends.

Funeral services were arranged through Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service – South Chapel, with visitation and a service announced by the family. Marty will be laid to rest at the Parton Family Cemetery.

Marty will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and devotion to family. Those who loved him will carry his memory forward in their stories, traditions, and the small, everyday acts of care that reflected who he was.
