Remembering Destiny

A life held close in memory

Destiny Jariyah Oliver (October 7, 2013 — September 14, 2019) was a cherished little girl whose laughter and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Born in 2013, Destiny’s bright eyes and joyful presence made ordinary moments special for family and friends. In her short life she enjoyed the simple delights of childhood: the company of family, time with neighborhood friends, and days at school where teachers and classmates remembered her as a young student with a ready smile.

Destiny attended Fountain City Elementary and was known to those around her as a happy child who loved being with people who cared for her. Family and the local community gathered to celebrate her life at services arranged by Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, where those who loved her honored her memory and the sweetness she brought into their lives.

Though Destiny’s life was far too brief, the tenderness she inspired endures in the hearts of those who loved her. Her memory lives on in family stories, the small kindnesses she inspired, and the ways her presence brightened everyday moments. Friends and neighbors continue to remember her with flowers, notes, and quiet acts of care offered in her name.

Destiny’s life — full of innocent promise and uncomplicated joy — is remembered with love and tenderness. May those who hold her memory find comfort in the small, luminous moments she gave to the people around her and in the ongoing care her community has shown to her family.
