Remembering Demetrius

A life held close in memory

Demetrius John Dell Grayson (born June 8, 1976) was a Milwaukee native whose life centered on family, steady work, and the neighborhood he called home. Affectionately known as “Key Man” from childhood, a playful nickname he kept into adulthood, Demetrius was a father to four children and a presence in their lives.

He grew up in the Milwaukee Public Schools system and later supported his family through hands-on work in manufacturing. At the time of his death he was employed as a material handler for Pace Industries and previously worked as a machine operator for CTS Technology. Those who relied on him knew him as a practical, hardworking man who valued providing for his children and keeping day-to-day life steady.

Friends and family remember Demetrius for ordinary but meaningful things: the way he showed up for work, the nickname that spoke to a childhood curiosity, and the relationships he maintained in his community on Milwaukee’s north side. His funeral services were handled by a local funeral chapel in Milwaukee, and he was laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery.

Public records and local archival listings confirm the details of his life and passing. Though the public record about him is limited, these facts point to a life lived in care of others—particularly his children—and to a man who found dignity in steady labor and family ties. His memory endures with those who loved him and in archival records that preserve his name and dates for future family and community remembrance.
