Dedrick Washington

Dedrick Washington, born August 13, 2008, is lovingly remembered by his family and community in Memphis. A cherished son of Felicia Washington and Dedrick Jackson, Dedrick brought joy to those who knew him and remained close to his sisters Edneisha and Demiesha and his brother Deadrick. Family members also include grandparents Bobbie Washington, Sandra Herron, and Michael Jackson, together with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who treasured his smile and presence.

Dedrick’s funeral was held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Memphis, where relatives and friends gathered to honor his life and offer support to one another. A visitation preceded the service, and he was laid to rest the same day at McCully Cemetery in Oakland, Tennessee, where loved ones committed him to rest surrounded by memory and prayer.

Those who loved Dedrick recall a young life that mattered to a family and community. Though his years were few, the care of his parents, the companionship of his siblings, and the comfort of extended family were central to who he was. In the days following his passing, family, friends, and community members came together to celebrate his life and to support one another through grief.
