Remembering Christopher
A life held close in memory
Christopher Rashaud Polk (April 3, 1992 — February 24, 2018) was remembered by family and friends for a warm smile, an energetic spirit, and a deep love for his child and community. Born in San Antonio to Glen and Elizabeth Polk, Christopher grew up surrounded by family and faith. He was the middle child of three and carried a playful, generous nature that those closest to him still recall.
Christopher found joy in music and performance. As a local rapper performing under the names Chris P and Ape Life, he shared his creativity with his city through live shows and recordings. He also enjoyed sports as a youth, playing football at William Taft High School where he wore #66 and took pride in being part of his school’s teams. Beyond the stage and the field, Christopher was described by his family as kind, respectful, and intelligent — someone who cared deeply for those he loved.
Most of all, Christopher cherished fatherhood. He treasured his daughter, Kay-Kay, and family members remember how proud he was to be a dad. His close relationships with his parents and siblings were an important part of his life, and those bonds are a lasting part of his legacy. After his passing, family members kept his memory alive through community efforts and by continuing the clothing brand he helped inspire, honoring his creativity and aspirations.
Though his life was cut short, Christopher’s presence continues to be felt by those who knew him: in music, in family stories, and in the quiet, everyday ways his kindness was shown. He is remembered not for how he died but for the person he was — a son, a brother, a father, and an artist whose energy touched many. His family’s hope for answers reflects how much Christopher meant to them, and their efforts to honor his life keep his memory close.
