Charles Robert Anderson

Charles Robert “Charlie” Anderson (March 28, 1951 – January 24, 1987) is remembered for his steady service, devotion to family, and the warm presence he brought to his community. A career deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for eleven years, Charlie balanced duty with family life—frequently attending St. Finbar Catholic Church in Burbank and taking pride in being a husband and father. Colleagues recalled him as a reliable classmate from the Sheriff’s Academy and a fellow officer who earned respect through quiet professionalism.

At home, Charlie’s family was central to him. He and his wife, Beth, raised their young children in Burbank, and his love for them was evident to friends and neighbors. The outpouring at his funeral—attended by many fellow officers, friends, and more than a thousand members of the community—reflected the high regard in which he was held and the breadth of lives he touched.

Charlie’s loss was felt deeply by his family, his fellow deputies, and the Burbank community. He is honored on memorials that remember the sacrifice and service of peace officers across California. Though his life was cut short, those who knew him remember his dedication to family and to a career spent protecting others.
