Blake Hettick

Blake Edward Hettick, 20, of Missoula, passed away on August 18, 2016. Born on December 9, 1995 in Missoula, Blake grew up surrounded by family and friends who recall him for his steady kindness and cheerful presence. A 2014 graduate of Hellgate High School, he carried with him a love of the outdoors and a deep appreciation for time spent with the people he cared about.

Blake found joy in simple, hands-on pursuits. He loved taking drives into the mountains, hunting and mudding with friends, and spending hours restoring and working on his car. His interest in animals extended to reptiles and spiders, and he often took pleasure in learning about and caring for them. Whether at home or out with friends, Blake was known for having a smile on his face and a ready willingness to help those around him.

Beloved son of Sara Snyder and Edward Hettick III, Blake is also survived by siblings Kyla, Eddie, David, Mya and Alexis; grandparents Edward Hettick II, Randy Baxter and Omar Snyder; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who treasured his steady, peaceful nature. He was preceded in death by grandmothers Mary Spooner and Dana Baxter.

Services were held on August 25, 2016, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonner with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery Annex. In remembering Blake, family and friends recall a young man whose kindness, loyalty and practical skills made him a comforting presence and a reliable friend. Those who loved him remember his smile, his love of the outdoors, and the quiet ways he supported the people nearest to him.
