Remembering Antoine
A life held close in memory
Antoine Devon Davis (January 19, 1979 – December 24, 2010) is remembered as a loving son, husband, and father whose presence brought light to family and friends. Born to Rowena M. Davis and raised in the Omaha community, Antoine took great joy in family life and in special moments like preparing for holidays — Christmas in particular meant a great deal to him and those who loved him.
Antoine’s family remembers a man who delighted in making others smile. He was a devoted father to Dejeune Davis, JaQuez Davis-Spigner, SaiTeya Peavy, and Detoine Davis, and a caring stepfather to Cedric Glover and Darnell Polite. He leaves behind his wife, Brandy Davis; his mother, Rowena M. Davis; sisters Angel, Taneisha and Angela Davis, and Arnetia Nelson; brother Johnny Reed; and extended family who held him close. Antoine’s extended family and friends recall his easy smile and the warmth he brought into gatherings.
In late December 2010, loved ones gathered to honor Antoine’s life at services in Omaha. A public viewing was held at Myers Funeral Home Chapel followed by a homegoing service at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C., where family and friends shared memories of his kindness, humor, and devotion to his children. Those who knew him spoke of a man who, even in ordinary moments, showed care for his family and community.
Though Antoine’s life was cut short, his memory endures through the children he raised and the family who continues to celebrate his life. He is remembered not for how he died but for the compassion and joy he brought to others — a presence that remains alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
