Anthony Joseph Trovata

Anthony “A.J.” Joseph Trovata (April 17, 1986 – May 8, 2018) of Shawsville, Virginia, will be remembered for the love he showed his family and the light he brought to friends’ lives. A.J. was a devoted husband to Aleah J. Trovata and a proud father to his children, Anthony J. Trovata, Jr. and Ava J. Trovata. He was the son of Joey A. and Charlene A. Trovata and is also survived by brothers and extended family who treasured his presence.

Friends recall A.J. as someone who greeted others with a warm hug and a ready smile. Those who knew him spoke of his generous spirit and the small, heartfelt ways he made people feel cared for and seen. Childhood friends remembered shared times fishing, playing, and laughing together—moments that speak to the everyday joy he brought into relationships.

A gathering to honor A.J.’s memory was held at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, where family and friends came together to celebrate his life and the affection he inspired. In keeping with the family’s wishes, contributions in his memory were directed to Eagles Nest Regeneration, reflecting a hope that his memory might support healing and renewal in the lives of others.

Though his time was far too short, Anthony’s love for his family and his capacity to brighten a room left a lasting impression. He is remembered not for how he died but for the warmth he gave and the bonds he nurtured—his wife, his children, parents, siblings, and friends carry those memories forward with gratitude and love.
