Obituary

A formal remembrance

Anthony Craig Logan, born October 13, 1982, was a lifelong South Bend resident whose deep commitment to family defined his days. Known to those closest to him as a devoted son and a proud brother, Anthony made a point of attending graduations, birthday celebrations, and other milestones in the lives of his nieces and nephews. Family gatherings and everyday moments with relatives mattered to him, and his presence at those events is remembered by those who loved him.

Raised in South Bend by his aunt, Kimberly Logan, Anthony was the son of Steven Craig Logan, Sr. and Dana Elaine O’Neal. He grew up in local schools and remained tied to the community throughout his life. Anthony is survived by his parents; his aunt who raised him; sisters Brandi Smith, Shiana O’Neal and Dreyana O’Neal; brothers Joshua Logan, Steven Logan Jr., Brandon O’Neal and Marcus O’Neal; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.

Those who knew Anthony remember a man who placed family at the center of his life. He was proud to show up for the people he loved and valued the simple, important roles of son, sibling, cousin and friend. Though public details about his daily work and private interests are limited in the record, the consistent throughline in accounts of Anthony’s life is his devotion to family and community ties in South Bend.

Anthony passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. His loss is felt by many who treasured his steady presence at family events and the quiet ways he supported loved ones. Family and friends remember him for the care he showed his relatives and for the importance he placed on being there during life’s meaningful moments.

A private remembrance and services were arranged by his family; the family has shared memories and condolences through the funeral home. Anthony’s life is honored by those who knew him best — a life marked by commitment to family and by the many ordinary but cherished ways he showed up for others.
