Remembering Andre
A life held close in memory
Andre Mitchell, age 27, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on August 10, 2014. Born January 4, 1987, in Clarksville, Andre was a loving son and a devoted father who held close the people and places that mattered most to him. He was a member of Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith and community ties were an important part of his life.
Andre is remembered by his mother, Pamela Crouch and Robert Mitchell, Jr.; his children Kay'Lani Simmons and Kyng Evans; his sisters Alexis Atwell, Arlaysea Holmes and Ayesha Williams; brother Antonio Mitchell; and a wide circle of grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who treasured his presence. Family gatherings, church connections, and the everyday rhythms of community life were central to Andre’s days, and he is recalled for the place he held in those close relationships.
Services to honor Andre’s life were arranged by Foston Funeral Home in Clarksville, with visitation held for family and friends and a funeral service at First Missionary Baptist Church. He was laid to rest at Martin Chapel Cemetery, where loved ones gathered to celebrate his life and to offer comfort to one another.
Though his life was cut far too short, Andre’s memory endures in the children and family he loved. Those who knew him remember a son and father whose relationships and faith marked the heart of his life. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
