Alphonzo Easley

Alphonzo Clinton “Fonnie” Easley (January 24, 1987 – November 19, 2020) was born and raised in Indianapolis, where he grew into a family-centered man known for his kindness and dry humor. A Warren Township Schools graduate, Alphonzo carried a strong work ethic into his role as a manager at the Goodwill on 30th and Shadeland, where colleagues remembered him for steady leadership and care for others.

He loved cooking and was an avid fan of basketball and football, pastimes he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Alphonzo took particular joy in spending time with children and helping his grandmother, whose bond with him was especially close. Those who knew him describe him as authentic and loyal—someone who could bring laughter even in difficult moments and who often put others before himself.

Alphonzo cherished his relationship with his fiancée, Jantae Tuggles, and was proud of his sisters and their accomplishments. He is remembered by his parents, Alphonzo and Ruthanne Easley; grandmothers Darlene “Nana” Robinson and Lillian Toby; his stepson Eric Tuggles; siblings Raymond, Brandy, Sandy, and Darlene; nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of family and friends who loved him for his steady presence and warm spirit.

Though his life was tragically cut short on November 19, 2020, the memories of his generosity, humor, and devotion to family endure. Those who loved Alphonzo remember a man who gave freely of himself, lifted others with laughter, and cared deeply for the people around him.
