Remembering Aidyn

A life held close in memory

Aidyn Michael Hansen, 10, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on September 15, 2023. Born March 4, 2013, in Beloit, Aidyn was a fifth grader at Converse Elementary School and brought warmth and humor to everyone who knew him. He was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and laughter that could light up a room.

Aidyn loved the simple pleasures of childhood: drawing, playing Pokémon, laser tag, and video games like Mario Party. He enjoyed making short videos and spending time with his siblings—teasing and teaching in equal measure—and delighted in family moments. Though he joked that he hated doing the dishes, his family remembers him as caring and full of personality.

He was the son of Ashley Lynn Louise Gray and Donald Albert Hansen and is survived by his mother, father, sister Grace, brother Sawyer, grandparents, great-grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who treasured his presence. He counted close friends among his memories and left an impression on classmates and neighbors alike.

A public visitation was held Friday, September 22, 2023, at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home in Beloit, with a private celebration of his life for family and close friends to follow. Aidyn’s family invited those who knew him to share memories and condolences through the funeral home’s arrangements.

Aidyn’s family asks that he be remembered for the joy he brought into ordinary days—the jokes, the laughter, the moments of play and creativity. Though his life was far too short, the warmth of his smile and the brightness of his spirit remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
